Welcome to the Largs Karate Club Website

Largs Karate Club was founded in 1981 and train in the Shotokan style of Karate. It was originally part of the Budokan Karate Association and in 1986 we became the first club in the West of Scotland to join the Karate Union of Great Britain.
In 1987 Sensei Frank Brennan 7th Dan became the clubs Grading Instructor and we feel that we are very privileged that he is still taking our Gradings to this day. In 1989 Sensei Mark McKinlay 3rd Dan and Sensei Gordon McKay 3rd Dan took over as Club Instructors and are still working hard to maintain the high standard the Club has gained over the years.
Largs Karate Club is affiliated to Britain's biggest karate association, the Karate Union of Great Britain which has been established for over 40 years and has produced some of the worlds greatest karateka. Club grading's for coloured and black belts are held regularly with senior KUGB instructors, licence's are issued which allow members to attend courses and National championships.
